Baha Mar 'on cusp' of $110m-plus work
Baha Mar is "on the cusp of execution" for the three main projects that will kick-start its $2.6 billion Cable Beach development, with infrastructure costs estimated to be between $95-$100 million, and total direct construction costs for the Commercial Village pegged at $1.5 million. |

Govt signs deal with Baha Mar for Cable Beach investment project
Government has signed a supplemental Heads of Agreement with Baha Mar, and its joint venture partner Harrah's, for the $2.6 billion investment project on Cable Beach. This comes some 33 months after the initial agreement was signed for the project during the Christie administration. |

Albany's fate in its own hands
The start date and construction schedule for the $1.4 billion Albany Golf & Beach Resort "is entirely in the hands" of the developers, who are working to "finalise one last document" with the Government at a meeting set for today. Dr Earl Deveaux, Minister Of Works and Ttransport, said Albany had obtained all the necessary approvals from his ministry for Phase I of their project, and did not need to "negotiate any further deal with the Government". |

Rose Island build out to cost $1bn
The Ritz-Carlton Rose Island resort will cost "near $1 billion" to construct over a 10-year period, the hotel chain's senior vice president for Florida and the Caribbean said, with the developers amending the resort design to move away from a seven-storey structure. |

Government 'backs off" Baha Mar Deal
The Government pulled back from signing off on the final approvals for Baha Mar's $2.4 billion Cable Beach redevelopment at the last minute to amend some details of the agreement, which are understood to be related to land issues. The revised agreement is understood to have been rejected by Baha Mar, leaving the two sides at what is at least a temporary impasse. |

Ground has been broken on the $10 million first phase of what will become a 120,000 square foot shopping centre at Coral Harbour. Vertical construction to start in February, with project to employ 30-40 workers and create at least 50 permanent jobs in first phase Phase II to start in 2009 and include food store Sales on 304-lot subdivision to start in early March. |
